Toys & Treats Drive

Toys & Treats Drive at Peterborough Mitsubishi

Peterborough Mitsubishi is a proud supporter of The Peterborough Humane Society and the Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes and the great work they do.

The Peterborough Humane Society

The Peterborough Humane Society (PHS) is an open admission animal shelter that has been serving Peterborough County for over 80 years. They offer veterinary care, vaccinations, and spaying/neutering to every animal in their care, which is about 1,600 pets each year.

They also advocate for animals by providing shelter and healing, and by promoting responsible pet ownership and facilitating adoption. They do this without any government funding and rely on donations from the community to operate.

If you would like to learn more about the great work the Peterborough Humane Society does, we invite you to read Louis' story. It is just one of the many examples of the care the animals receive thanks to your generous donations (and a team of dedicated volunteers)!

The Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes

The Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes (HSKL) is a registered charity that helps the animals in their care find their Forever Homes. They operate a Pet Food Bank to help families in temporary need of pet food. They also educate the public about the humane treatment of animals and direct the community to the proper resources in time of need. Their mission is to ensure that all animals receive humane care and treatment, to educate the public, and to enforce animal protection laws.

HSKL does not receive government funding for the tireless work they do. They rely on the generous support of the community and their many dedicated volunteers.

In addition to donations made directly to HSKL, donations of home décor items, clothes, books, games, knick-knacks, seasonal items and more can also be made to Second Chance, HSKL's thrift shop. Second Chance, located at 111 McLaughlin Road in Lindsay, is 100% volunteer operated and 100% of sales benefit the shelter and the animals in their care.

There are several ways to support the PHS & HSKL, which include donations, adoption, and volunteering. While cash donations are always welcome, did you know that they also accept Canadian Tire money and donations of new and used items? Items we would normally discard, such as empty shoe boxes and used towels, sheets or blankets can go a long way in helping them look after the pets in their care. You can also check out their Wish Lists on Amazon.

To that end, Peterborough Mitsubishi is hosting a Toys & Treats Drive on behalf of PHS & HSKL. Please consider donating to the Toys & Treats drive. Donations can be made by purchasing items on their Amazon wish lists, by bringing items directly to the shelter, or by bringing them to us, here at Peterborough Mitsubishi.

To show our appreciation for your donations, everyone who donates through Peterborough Mitsubishi will be entered to win a Triple Diamond Detailing Package, valued at up to $224!
